Positano is a charming town on the coast of Italy, south of Naples and around an hour by car from the equally famous Amalfi coast.

How to get there

From Rome:

Take the A1 motorway south to Naples and then the A3 for Salerno-Reggio Calabria (avoid the Tangenziale di Napoli- the ring road of Naples). Come off the A3 at Castellamare di Stabia and follow the brown road signs to the Penisola Sorrentina (Sorrento Peninsular). At Meta di Sorrento follow signs for Positano. At the Positano junction follow signs for Positano and go straight on til "Arienzo".

From Naples Airport Capodichino:
